Monthly Archives: March 2009

We will be holding another chapter meeting on
Thursday, April 9th, 2009. We will be discussing our chapter priority
progress, our lobbying efforts, and any other church-state issues of
concern to chapter members and volunteers.

Place:
Baker and McKenzie Law Offices
4th Floor Conference Room
1114 Avenue of the Americas
(Entrance on 42nd Street – the GRACE building)

Time:
6:30 – 8:00pm

Note: In order to gain admittance to the building, you will need a
picture ID. Your picture will also be taken to be put on your pass.

Thank you for all that attended our Chapter Meeting on Feb. 5th.  We had a very good turnout!

We would also like to thank Maggie Garrett, AU Assistant Legislative Director, for giving a very informative and rousing presentation!

We look forward to having more updates to our Chapter 2009 Priorities in the coming days and weeks.  We also encourage you to submit items you find concerning President Obama’s Office of Faith-Based and Community Partnerships and judicial appointments to our email.

In the meantime, there are two ways you can get involved now:

  • Thank Senator Schumer and Senator Gillibrand for helping to defeat Senator DeMint’s amendment to strip constitutional protections from the Economic Recovery Package.
  • Send a letter to President Obama urging him to overturn the Bush Administration executive order thats undercut civil rights and civil liberties.
