Jason Stewart, AU-NYC Chapter President, will be speaking at the Brooklyn Society for Ethical Culture next Sunday, December 13th, 2009 at 11:00am:

Defending the Separation of Church and State

with Jason Stewart

Sunday, December 13, 2009 at 11:00am

Brooklyn Society for Ethical Culture
53 Prospect Park West (at 2nd St.)
Brooklyn, NY 11215

Religious conservatives who seek to make this a Christian nation are as
active as ever. We’ll hear the latest from the front lines with Jason
Stewart, the president of the New York chapter of Americans United for the
Separation of Church and State.

We will be holding another chapter meeting on
Thursday, April 9th, 2009. We will be discussing our chapter priority
progress, our lobbying efforts, and any other church-state issues of
concern to chapter members and volunteers.

Place:
Baker and McKenzie Law Offices
4th Floor Conference Room
1114 Avenue of the Americas
(Entrance on 42nd Street – the GRACE building)

Time:
6:30 – 8:00pm

Note: In order to gain admittance to the building, you will need a
picture ID. Your picture will also be taken to be put on your pass.

We held a Chapter Get-Together on October 22nd, at a local restaurant. We got some good ideas about improving the chapter and spreading the church-state separation message in NYC. But even more important, WE HAD A FUN TIME just hanging out, enjoying a good meal, and (of course) talking politics!

Because of typical scheduling during the end of the year, we will probably not have another specific chapter event until the beginning of 2009. But we definitely would like to have more of these purely social occasions. If you have ideas, or suggestions for other places to gather (including other restaurants), please let us know. Send us an email at info@au-nyc.org.
